I’m far from the most qualified person to answer any question regarding the Faith! Because of this, I’d be failing you to not include other resources and platforms that you can go to that are either more qualified, authoritative, engaging, or (as will most often be the case) all three. This is far from exhaustive, but I think its about as good a launch point as any:

The Catechism of the Catholic Church is the Church’s compendium of teachings for the modern layman! It’s about as authoritative as it comes as far as what the current Catholic laity ought to believe, so if you want an answer and the Catechism has that answer, that IS the answer. I’m linking to it on Amazon here because you do NOT want to view it online; please just do yourself a favor and buy a copy, they’re only $7.00 at the time of this post. Don’t put yourself through trying to read it from the Vatican’s website. Please.

Word on Fire is Bishop Robert Barron’s initiative to, in their words, “evangelize the culture” through media, both new and old. I’ve benefitted greatly from Word on Fire both as producers of content and publishers of it, and highly recommend them if you want well-produced (digital or print) resources to help you in your understanding of the Church and her eternal mission to “go therefore, and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19). Visit them here.

My all-time favorite podcast: Shameless Popery. Joe Heschmeyer, a Catholic apologist out of Kansas City, Kansas, gives engaging and informative answers to many popular (and unpopular) questions about the Faith. I can’t recommend him enough, as he makes weighty and highly-intellectual topics palatable to normal folk who haven’t got M.A.s in theology and philosophy. Give him a listen on Spotify here, or find him on probably any other media platform.

I honestly don’t know a ton about Ascension Presents as an organization, but I do know that people absolutely love their Youtube content. They produce videos that are short, digestible, and impactful to popular-level audiences. I’ve used them many times as a starter for a 1-1 I’m having with a student, or even just for my own edification. See their Youtube channel here.
